Professional maternal assistant - is the individual, certified under the conditions of Decision no. 679/2003 regarding the conditions for obtaining the certificate, the certification procedures, and the status of the professional maternal assistant, who ensures through the activity carried out at their home the upbringing, care, and education necessary for the harmonious development of the children they receive in foster care.
The purpose of the procedure is to establish a unified and common methodological framework for specialists within the Case Management Department for Maternal Assistants who interact with professional maternal assistants and the children for whom a special protection measure has been instituted, aiming at their upbringing, care, and education, in order to provide an emotional and secure environment necessary for the harmonious development of the children.
