​Regarding the Current Professional Certificate, we would like to make the following clarifications:

In accordance with the provisions of the Pharmacy Law no. 266/2008 in its consolidated form as it was published in the Official Gazette no. 448/30.06.2009 Part I, as well as the Implementation Rules published in the Official Gazette no. 538/03.07.2009 Part I, pharmacists who will hold the position of chief pharmacist in a pharmaceutical unit (in cases of establishment of new pharmaceutical units, as well as changes of the chief pharmacist – for those who will take over the position of chief), will address the county colleges to obtain the Current Professional Certificate.

Also, this document is necessary for pharmacists who wish to practice their profession outside the country.

The methodology for drawing up and issuing the Current Professional Certificate was established by Decision of the National Council of the Romanian College of Pharmacists no. 1/2007, a decision published in the Official Gazette of Romania Part I no. 324 of 15.05.2007.

Below, we present the main provisions of Decision no. 1/2007, as follows:

- The Current Professional Certificate will be drawn up by the College of Pharmacists of Romania and issued by the territorial college at which the applicant is registered;

- The validity of the Current Professional Certificate is 3 months from the date of issuance;

- Within a maximum of three days from receiving the request for the issuance of the Current Professional Certificate, the territorial college will send to the College of Pharmacists of Romania the standard request for drawing up and issuing the document;

- Within a maximum of 30 days from receiving the request, the College of Pharmacists of Romania will draw up the certificate and send it to the territorial college;

- The Current Professional Certificate will be issued by the College of Pharmacists of Romania, which will prepare and transmit it to the territorial college;
- The territorial college will draw up a Register of records – with identifying data of the Current Professional Certificates issued to pharmacists from that county – and will deliver them to the applicants under signature upon receipt.

To obtain the Current Professional Certificate, the pharmacist will submit to the territorial college a file that will include the documents attached below.

The reinstatement of membership is based on a request, which the applicant, the pharmacist, submits to the headquarters of the territorial College, namely the Caraș Severin Pharmacists’ College, by which they request the reinstatement of membership starting from a certain date.

In order to proceed with the issuance of a duplicate Certificate of membership of the College of Pharmacists of Romania, the applicant must submit the complete documentation to the headquarters of the College of Pharmacists Caras Severin, in accordance with the provisions of Decision no. 4/2004 of the National Council of the College of Pharmacists of Romania.

The membership certificate is granted to pharmacists who, upon explicit request, meet the following conditions: hold an official qualification in pharmacy, are not in any of the cases of unworthiness or incompatibility provided by law, are medically fit to practice as a pharmacist, have not interrupted the practice of the profession for more than 5 years or have obtained their bachelor's degree in the last 5 years, have paid the registration fee (the fee is paid into the account of the territorial college in the amount of 208 lei for persons who have registered within 1 YEAR of graduation and 235 lei for the rest of the persons).

The transfer note is issued by the college where the pharmacist is registered, based on a request. Before the transfer note is issued, the requesting pharmacist is required to pay the membership fee owed to the college from which they wish to leave, up to date. The transfer note will be handed to the applicant, with signature. In the pharmacists' registry (https://portal.tm-c.eu/LstFarma/ColegFarm), the college to which the pharmacist has transferred will be mentioned. If there is a complaint registered against the pharmacist at the college from which they are transferring, or if a disciplinary investigation has been initiated, the complaint or the disciplinary file will be sent to the college to which the pharmacist is transferring.

Suspension of membership status takes place when the applicant, the pharmacist, for certain reasons wishes to interrupt their activity for a certain period of time and submits to the headquarters of the Territorial College a request by which they ask for the suspension of membership status. At the time of requesting this suspension, the pharmacist must have paid the membership fee up to the end of the year and must fulfill the requirement of continuous professional training by completing 40 EFC hours for the respective period.

The pharmacist is obliged to inform the College of Pharmacists of Romania within 30 days of resuming activity.
