The Case Management Service for Children ensures the protection of the child who requires the establishment of a protection measure that involves the upbringing, care, and education of children temporarily or permanently deprived of parental care, including children with special needs (children with disabilities, abused/neglected children, children with behavioral disorders, children with chronic diseases, etc.) by a professional maternal assistant/family, at their home and in a residential-type service.

The professional maternal assistant is a natural person, certified according to the conditions established by law, as well as additional criteria approved by DGASPC Galați, who, through the activity carried out at their home, ensures the upbringing, care, and education necessary for the harmonious development of the children placed in their care.

Persons residing in the administrative area of Galați County, interested in becoming a professional maternal assistant, submit to the General Directorate of Social Assistance and Child Protection Galați an application for the evaluation of their capacity accompanied by the documents mentioned below.

The professional maternal assistant certificate is valid for 3 years and is issued by the Galați Child Protection Commission.
