Iasi Pharmacists' College*

Resumption of membership is done based on an application, which the applicant, the pharmacist, submits to the headquarters of the Territorial College, namely the Iasi College of Pharmacists, by which they request the resumption of membership starting from a certain date.

The transfer note is issued by the college where the pharmacist is registered, based on a request. Before the transfer note is issued, the requesting pharmacist is obliged to pay the membership fee due to the college from which they wish to leave. The transfer note will be handed, under signature, to the applicant. In the pharmacist record register (https://portal.tm-c.eu/LstFarma/ColegFarm) the college to which the pharmacist has transferred will be mentioned. If a complaint has been registered at the college from which the pharmacist is transferring, or if a disciplinary investigation has been initiated, the complaint or the disciplinary file will be sent to the college to which the pharmacist is transferring.

The membership certificate is granted to pharmacists who, upon express request, meet the following conditions:

• hold an official qualification in pharmacy;
• are not in any of the situations of unworthiness or incompatibility provided by law;
• are medically fit to practice as a pharmacist;
• have not interrupted the exercise of the profession for more than 5 years or have obtained their degree in the last 5 years;
• have paid the registration fee (the fee is paid into the account of the Iasi territorial college, amounting to 208 lei for persons who registered within 1 YEAR of graduation and 235 lei for other persons)

In order to proceed with the issuance of a duplicate of the Certificate of Membership of the College of Pharmacists of Romania, the applicant must submit the complete documentation to the headquarters of the Iași College of Pharmacists, in accordance with the provisions of Decision no. 4/2004 of the National Council of the College of Pharmacists.

Regarding the Current Professional Certificate, we would like to make the following clarifications:

In accordance with the provisions of the Pharmacy Law no. 266/2008 in the consolidated form as published in the Official Gazette no. 448/30.06.2009 Part I, as well as the Application Rules published in the Official Gazette no. 538/03.07.2009 Part I, pharmacists who will hold the position of chief pharmacist in a pharmaceutical unit (in cases of new pharmaceutical units being established, as well as changes of chief pharmacist - for those who will take over the position), will address the county colleges to obtain the Current Professional Certificate.

This document is also required for pharmacists who wish to practice their profession outside the country’s borders.

The methodology for preparing and issuing the Current Professional Certificate was established by Decision of the National Council of C.F.R. no. 1/2007, decision published in the Official Gazette of Romania Part I no. 324 of 15.05.2007.

Below, we present the main provisions of Decision no. 1/2007, as follows:

- The Current Professional Certificate will be prepared by the College of Pharmacists of Romania and issued by the territorial college where the applicant is registered;

- The validity of the Current Professional Certificate is 3 months from the date of issue;

- Within a maximum of three days from the receipt of the request for the issuance of the Current Professional Certificate, the territorial college will send the standard request to the College of Pharmacists of Romania for the preparation and issuance of the document;

- Within a maximum of 30 days from receipt of the request, C.F.R. will prepare the certificate and send it to the territorial college;

- The Current Professional Certificate will be issued by the College of Pharmacists of Romania, which will prepare it and send it to the territorial college;

- The territorial college will prepare a Registry of records – with the identification data of the Current Professional Certificates issued to pharmacists in the respective county – and will hand them to the applicants against signature of receipt.

The fee for issuing the Current Professional Certificate, in the amount of 100 lei, will be paid into the account of the territorial College RO92BRDE240SV08217902400.

Suspension of membership occurs when the applicant, the pharmacist, for certain reasons wishes to interrupt their activity for a certain period of time and submits to the headquarters of the Territorial College, namely the College of Pharmacists Iasi, a request through which they ask for the suspension of membership. At the time of requesting this suspension, the pharmacist must have paid the membership fee up to the end of the year and must fulfill the condition of continuous professional training by completing 40 EFC hours for that period.

The pharmacist is obliged to inform the College of Pharmacists of Romania within 30 days of resuming activity.
