Registration in the College of Pharmacists of Romania*

The membership certificate is granted to pharmacists who, upon express request, meet the following conditions: they hold an official pharmacy qualification, are not in any of the cases of unworthiness or incompatibility provided by law, are medically fit to practice the profession of pharmacist, have not interrupted the practice of the profession for more than 5 years or have obtained their degree in the last 5 years, have paid the registration fee (the fee is to be paid into the account of the territorial college RO77BRDE190SV01173991900 in the amount of 208 lei for persons who registered within 1 YEAR of graduation and 235 lei for the rest of the persons).

Pharmacist transfer*

The transfer note is issued by the college where the pharmacist is registered, based on a request. Before issuing the transfer note, the requesting pharmacist is obliged to pay up to date the membership fee owed to the college they wish to leave. The transfer note will be handed, under signature, to the applicant. In the pharmacists' record register (https://portal.tm-c.eu/LstFarma/ColegFarm) the college to which the pharmacist has transferred will be mentioned. If at the college from which the pharmacist is transferring a complaint has been registered against them or a disciplinary investigation has been initiated, the complaint and/or the disciplinary file will be sent to the college to which the pharmacist is transferring.

Duplicate member certificate*

In order to proceed with the issuance of a duplicate Certificate of Membership of the College of Pharmacists of Romania, the applicant must submit the complete documentation at the headquarters of the College of Pharmacists Bucharest, in accordance with the provisions of Decision no. 4/2004 of the National Council of the College of Pharmacists of Romania, the documents presented below.

Current Professional Certificate Request*

Regarding the Current Professional Certificate, we would like to make the following clarifications:

In accordance with the provisions of the Pharmacy Law no. 266/2008 in the consolidated form as published in the Official Gazette no. 448/30.06.2009 Part I, as well as the Implementation Rules published in the Official Gazette no. 538/03.07.2009 Part I, pharmacists who will hold the position of chief pharmacist in a pharmaceutical unit (in case of the establishment of new pharmaceutical units, as well as changes of the chief pharmacist - for those who will take over the position), will address the county colleges to obtain the Current Professional Certificate.

Also, this document is required for pharmacists who wish to practice their profession outside the country.

The methodology for issuing and releasing the Current Professional Certificate was established by Decision of the National Council of C.F.R. no. 1/2007, decision published in the Official Gazette of Romania Part I no. 324 of 15.05.2007.

Below, we present the main provisions of Decision no. 1/2007, as follows:

- The Current Professional Certificate will be prepared by the College of Pharmacists of Romania and released by the territorial college where the applicant is registered;

- The validity of the Current Professional Certificate is 3 months from the date of issuance;

- Within a maximum of three days from receiving the application for issuing the Current Professional Certificate, the territorial college will send the standard application to the College of Pharmacists of Romania for the preparation and issuance of the document;

- Within a maximum of 30 days from receiving the application, C.F.R. will prepare the certificate and send it to the territorial college;

- The Current Professional Certificate will be issued by the College of Pharmacists of Romania, which will prepare it and send it to the territorial college;

- The territorial college will keep a Register of records – with the identifying data of the Current Professional Certificates issued to pharmacists in the respective county – and will hand them over to the applicants with a signature of receipt.

The issuance fee for the Current Professional Certificate, in the amount of 100 lei, will be paid into the account of the territorial College.

To obtain the Current Professional Certificate, the pharmacist will submit to the territorial college a file containing the documents attached below.

Suspension of membership*

The suspension of membership is made at the moment when the applicant, the pharmacist, for certain reasons wishes to interrupt their activity for a certain period of time and submits to the headquarters of the territorial College, namely the College of Pharmacists Bucharest, a request through which they ask for the suspension of their membership. When requesting this suspension, the pharmacist must have the membership fee paid up to the end of the year and meet the requirement of continuous professional training through a number of 40 EFC hours during the respective period.

The pharmacist is obliged within 30 days from resuming activity to inform the College of Pharmacists of Romania.

Resumption of membership*

The reinstatement of membership is based on a request, which the applicant, the pharmacist, submits at the headquarters of the territorial College, namely the Bucharest College of Pharmacists, through which they request the reinstatement of membership starting from a specific date.
