Braila Pharmacists' College*

The membership certificate is granted to pharmacists who, upon express request, meet the following conditions: hold an official qualification in pharmacy, are not subject to any cases of dishonor or incompatibility provided by law, are medically fit to practice as a pharmacist, have not interrupted their practice for more than 5 years or have obtained their degree within the last 5 years, have paid the registration fee (the fee is paid into the territorial college account RO50CECEBR0137RON0117763 in the amount of 208 lei for those who registered within 1 YEAR of graduation and 235 lei for all others).

Regarding the Current Professional Certificate, we would like to make the following clarifications:

In accordance with the provisions of the Pharmacy Law no. 266/2008 in the consolidated form as published in the Official Gazette no. 448/30.06.2009 part I, as well as the Application Norms published in the Official Gazette no. 538/03.07.2009 part I, pharmacists who will hold the position of chief pharmacist in a pharmaceutical unit (in cases of establishing new pharmaceutical units, as well as changes of chief pharmacist - for those who will assume the position of chief), will address the county colleges to obtain the Current Professional Certificate.

Also, this document is necessary for pharmacists who wish to practice their profession outside the country's borders.

The methodology for drafting and issuing the Current Professional Certificate was established by Decision of the National Council of the College of Pharmacists in Romania no. 1/2007, decision published in the Official Gazette of Romania Part I no. 324 of 15.05.2007.

Below we present the main provisions of Decision no. 182007, as follows:

- The Current Professional Certificate will be prepared by the College of Pharmacists in Romania and issued by the territorial college at which the applicant is registered:

The validity of the Current Professional Certificate is 3 months from the date of issuance;

Within a maximum of three days from receiving the request for issuing the Current Professional Certificate, the territorial college will send to the College of Pharmacists in Romania the standard request for drafting and issuing the document:

Within a maximum of 30 days from receiving the request, the College of Pharmacists in Romania will draft the certificate and send it to the territorial college

The Current Professional Certificate will be issued by the College of Pharmacists in Romania, which will draft and send it to the territorial college;

The territorial college will keep a Registry of records - with the identification data of the Current Professional Certificates issued to pharmacists in the respective county - and will hand them over to the applicants against signature of receipt.

The fee for issuing the Current Professional Certificate, in the amount of 100 lei, will be paid to the account of the territorial college RO50CECEBR0137RON0117763.

Resumption of membership is based on a request, which the applicant, the pharmacist, submits to the headquarters of the territorial College, respectively the College of Pharmacists in Braila, through which they request the resumption of membership starting from a certain date.

The suspension of membership status occurs when the applicant, the pharmacist, for certain reasons wishes to interrupt their activity for a specific period of time and submits a request at the headquarters of the territorial College, namely the College of Pharmacists of Braila, requesting the suspension of membership status. At the time the pharmacist requests this suspension, they must have paid the membership fee until the end of the year and must meet the requirement of continuous professional development by having completed 40 EFC hours for the respective period.

The pharmacist is obliged to inform the College of Pharmacists of Romania within 30 days of resuming activity.

The transfer note is issued by the college where the pharmacist is registered, based on a request.

Before the transfer note is issued, the requesting pharmacist is required to pay the membership fee owed to the college from which they wish to leave, up to date. The transfer note will be handed over to the applicant under signature. In the register of pharmacists (https://portal.tm-c.eu/LstFarma/ColegFarm), the college to which the pharmacist has transferred will be noted. If a complaint has been registered against the pharmacist at the college from which they are transferring or if a disciplinary investigation has been initiated, the complaint or the disciplinary file will be forwarded to the college to which the pharmacist is transferring.

To proceed with the issuance of a duplicate Certificate of membership of the College of Pharmacists of Romania, the applicant must submit the complete documentation at the headquarters of the College of Pharmacists of Braila, in accordance with the provisions of Decision no. 4/2004 of the National Council of the College of Pharmacists of Romania.
