Regarding the Current Professional Certificate, we would like to make the following clarifications:

In accordance with the provisions of the Pharmacy Law no. 266/2008 in its consolidated form as published in the Official Gazette no. 448/30.06.2009 Part I, as well as the Application Norms published in the Official Gazette no. 538/03.07.2009 Part I, pharmacists who will hold the position of chief pharmacist in a pharmaceutical unit (in cases of establishing new pharmaceutical units, as well as changes of chief pharmacist – for those who will take over the position), will address the county colleges to obtain the Current Professional Certificate.

Also, this document is necessary for pharmacists who wish to practice their profession outside the country's borders.

The methodology for drafting and issuing the Current Professional Certificate was established by the Decision of the National Council of the College of Pharmacists of Romania no. 1/2007, decision published in the Official Gazette of Romania Part I no. 324 of 15.05.2007.

Below, we present the main provisions of Decision no. 1/2007, as follows:
- The Current Professional Certificate will be issued by the College of Pharmacists of Romania and released by the territorial college where the applicant is registered;
- The validity of the Current Professional Certificate is 3 months from the date of issuance;
- Within a maximum of three days from receiving the request for the issuance of the Current Professional Certificate, the territorial college will send the standard application to the College of Pharmacists of Romania for drafting and issuing the document;
- Within a maximum of 30 days from receiving the application, the College of Pharmacists of Romania will issue the certificate and send it to the territorial college;
- The Current Professional Certificate will be issued by the College of Pharmacists of Romania, which will create it and send it to the territorial college;
- The territorial college will keep a Register – with identification data of the Current Professional Certificates issued to pharmacists in that county – and will hand them over to applicants with proof of receipt.

The fee for issuing the Current Professional Certificate, in the amount of 100 lei, will be paid into the account of the territorial College RO45BRDE410SV26208314100.

To obtain the Current Professional Certificate, the pharmacist will submit to the territorial college a file that will include the documents attached below.
