Methodology regarding the recognition of diplomas and doctoral titles obtained abroad*

This methodology establishes the manner in which the recognition of doctoral diplomas and the title of doctor in sciences or in a professional field, obtained abroad, is carried out within the Romanian-German University of Sibiu.

The provisions of this methodology apply to Romanian citizens, citizens from member states of the European Union, the European Economic Area, the Swiss Confederation, and citizens from third countries, who have obtained a doctoral diploma and the title of doctor in sciences or in a professional field, obtained abroad in accredited higher education institutions from member states of the European Union, the European Economic Area, the Swiss Confederation, and in prestigious universities from other states included in the "List of prestigious universities from other states", approved by OMECTS no. 5825/2016 and periodically updated.

The teaching profession is found at position no. A.8 in Annex no. 2 of Law no. 200/2004 regarding the recognition of diplomas and professional qualifications for regulated professions in Romania, with subsequent amendments and completions.*

The decision of recognition or non-recognition may be appealed by submitting a complaint to the university registry within 10 days of its receipt. Subsequently, the university's final decision may be contested at the competent court in the municipality of Sibiu.
