This procedure regulates the automatic recognition at the West University of Timișoara (UVT) of academic teaching positions in higher education obtained at accredited higher education institutions abroad, for the purpose of filling a vacant teaching position within UVT, participating in selection committees for occupying teaching and research positions within UVT, etc.

The provisions of this procedure apply to Romanian citizens, citizens of member states of the European Union, of the European Economic Area, of the Swiss Confederation, and citizens of third countries.

"Art. 4. UVT is an accredited higher education institution according to legal regulations and, as such, automatically recognizes academic teaching positions in higher education obtained at accredited higher education institutions from member states of the European Union, the European Economic Area, the Swiss Confederation, and at prestigious universities from other countries included in the List of prestigious universities from other countries, approved by order of the Minister of National Education and Scientific Research and periodically updated."

"Art. 5. Academic teaching positions obtained at other accredited higher education institutions than those mentioned in Art. 4 are recognized only based on an international agreement of mutual recognition, concluded at intergovernmental or inter-university level."

"Art. 7. The committee that evaluates the recognition file and pronounces a solution regarding the recognition request, hereinafter referred to as the Evaluation Committee, is composed of three members: one tenured teaching staff member from the department similar to the applicant's specialization, the faculty dean, and one representative of UVT's Information and Documentation Resource Center. The tenured teaching staff member, member of the Evaluation Committee, shall be appointed by the Dean, with the approval of the Faculty Council." Issuance of duplicate

In case of loss, destruction or deterioration of the recognition decision, UVT shall issue, upon request, a duplicate thereof.
