This procedure establishes the way in which the automatic recognition, within the University of Medicine and Pharmacy, of the status of doctoral supervisor obtained in accredited higher education institutions abroad is carried out.

The provisions of this methodology apply to Romanian citizens, citizens of member states of the European Union, the European Economic Area, the Swiss Confederation, and citizens of third countries who have obtained the status of doctoral supervisor in accredited higher education institutions in member states of the European Union, the European Economic Area, the Swiss Confederation, and in prestigious universities from other states included in the "List of prestigious universities from other states," approved by OMECTS no. 5825/2016 and updated periodically.

The profession of PhD supervisor is found at position no. A.8 in Annex no. 2 of Law no. 200 of 2004 regarding the recognition of diplomas and professional qualifications for regulated professions in Romania, with subsequent amendments and completions.*

Diplomas that are not issued in Romanian will also be presented with a legalized translation.*

Appeal routes

The decision of non-recognition can be contested within 15 days from the date of communication, through a signed request submitted to the University Registry. Appeals are resolved within 5 days from registration by the Appeals Resolution Committee. Subsequently, the university's final decision can be challenged in court.
