The rectification of civil status documents and their associated notes is carried out based on the order of the mayor of the administrative-territorial unit that holds the civil status document, ex officio or at the request of the interested person, with the approval of the County Office for Population Records/Local Office for Population Records of the sectors of Bucharest municipality; the request, accompanied by supporting documents, is submitted to any Local Office for Population Records or, as the case may be, to any town hall within the administrative-territorial unit and is resolved by the civil status officer within the Local Office for Population Records or, as appropriate, within the town hall of the administrative-territorial unit where the Local Office for Population Records does not operate, which holds the civil status document; Rectification involves correcting errors in the civil status document and is done by entering the content of the rectification in the notes section. HOW THE REQUEST IS RESOLVED By issuing an order by the mayor of the administrative-territorial unit that holds the civil status document; With the approval of the head of the County Community Public Service for Person Registration/the Community Public Service for Person Registration of the sector of Bucharest municipality. ISSUING THE ORDER within 30 days from receiving the request; it is communicated to the applicant, within 10 days from the date of issuance. The order approving the rectification request/denying the rectification may be challenged in the court in whose territorial jurisdiction the issuing authority is located, in accordance with the law.*
