- The procedure applies within the “Gheorghe Asachi” Technical University of Iaşi for the recognition of academic positions obtained in accredited higher education institutions abroad.
- The academic positions in higher education obtained in accredited higher education institutions from member states of the European Union, the European Economic Area, the Swiss Confederation, and in prestigious universities from other states included in the “List of prestigious universities from other states”, approved by order of the Minister of the relevant ministry and periodically updated, are automatically recognized.
- The academic positions obtained at other accredited higher education institutions than those mentioned in para. (1) are recognized only on the basis of an international mutual recognition agreement concluded at intergovernmental or inter-university level.
- The provisions of this methodology apply to Romanian citizens, citizens from member states of the European Union, the European Economic Area, the Swiss Confederation and citizens from third countries.
- Occupying a teaching position in the Romanian higher education system is carried out in accordance with the legal regulations in force (Law no. 1/2011 with subsequent amendments and completions).
- The recognition of the academic position according to this procedure is valid and produces legal effects at the level of the “Gheorghe Asachi” Technical University of Iași.

Appeal routes
- The applicant may appeal the Rector's decision within 10 working days from receipt. In the situation where the appeal is submitted no more than 30 days before the start of the academic holiday, the resolution period is postponed starting with the first day of the academic year. The resolution and decision issuance deadlines are calculated from this date.
- The appeals committee will re-examine the file within 30 working days from the registration of the appeal and will send the report to the Administrative Council for approval and the issuance of the Rector's Decision.
- The Rector's Decision is communicated to the applicant.
