This methodology establishes the procedure for automatic recognition, within the University of Art and Design in Cluj-Napoca, of the status of doctoral supervisor obtained in accredited higher education institutions abroad. The provisions of this methodology apply to Romanian citizens, citizens of member states of the European Union, the European Economic Area, the Swiss Confederation, and citizens from third countries, who have obtained the status of doctoral supervisor in accredited higher education institutions from EU member states, the European Economic Area, the Swiss Confederation, and in prestigious universities from other countries included in the "List of prestigious universities from other countries," approved by OMECTS no. 5825/2016 and periodically updated.

The decision of recognition or non-recognition may be challenged by appeal within 2 days from the announcement of the solution or the recognition certificate. The appeal will be reviewed by an Appeals Committee appointed by the Rector of UAD in Cluj-Napoca. The Appeals Committee will issue a response within 15 days from receiving the appeal. If the applicant is not satisfied with the decision of the Appeals Committee, they may address the competent court, the Cluj Tribunal, Mixed Section for Administrative and Fiscal Disputes, within the legal term of 30 days.
