Recognition of qualifications acquired in the territory of other EU Member States in regulated health professions, for the purpose of practicing the profession of pharmacist in the territory of Romania*

For the recognition of the pharmacist qualification obtained in an EU member state, in a state belonging to the European Economic Area or in the Swiss Confederation, the following steps are followed

1. national applicants from these states submit to the Ministry of Health a file containing the documents listed below; the file can also be sent by postal/courier services with acknowledgment of receipt.

2. after registration, the content of the file is verified by the Center for Human Resources in Public Health (CRUSP) against the list of documents, including their expiration dates

3. in the case of incomplete files, the applicant is notified to complete the missing or non-compliant documents.

4. complete files are forwarded for analysis to the professional organization - the College of Pharmacists of Romania.

5. the professional organization issues, as appropriate, the recognition endorsement or the application of compensatory measures (aptitude test or adaptation period).

6. the Ministry of Health issues the order for the recognition of the professional qualification or notifies the applicant regarding the application of compensatory measures, as the case may be.

Document regarding the physical and mental health of the holder issued by the member state of origin or provenance. The document is valid for 3 months from the date of issue and must be submitted within the validity period. In the event that, for access to and exercise of the respective profession, the member state of origin or provenance does not issue this document to its citizens, the applicant shall submit an attestation equivalent to the health certificate, issued by that member state.*

Evidence issued by the member state of origin or provenance regarding good character, morals, or the absence of any situation that suspends or prohibits the exercise of the profession in the case of serious professional misconduct, namely a certificate confirming the absence of temporary or permanent suspensions from practicing the profession or criminal convictions. The document is valid for 3 months from the date of issue and must be submitted within its validity period. If the member state of origin or provenance does not issue such a document to its citizens, the applicant shall submit a certificate issued based on a sworn statement or solemn declaration by the applicant, by the competent judicial or administrative authority or, as the case may be, by the notary or professional organization authorized for this purpose by that state.*

The certificate issued by banks, including insurance companies from one of the EU member states, EEA states or the Swiss Confederation, certifying that the holder is insured against financial risks arising from professional liability according to the legal provisions in force in Romania regarding the terms and extent of this guarantee.
