The natural persons interested to perform metrological verifications in a metrological laboratory must apply for an examination in order to obtain the verification officer authorization. The application may also be made by the legal persons where the natural persons seeking authorization are employed. The application accompanied by the documents required by the legal metrology procedure PML 5-01-05 “Authorization of natural persons”, 2nd edition, approved by Order no. 61/02.03.2011 of the BRML Director General, will be lodged at the head office of the territorial BRML unit. The authorization will be issued within 30 days after the registration of application. General information is available at the head offices of the Legal Metrology Regional Directorates and Legal Metrology County Services.

This list will include the varieties/sub-varieties of measuring instruments for which authorization is requested, their position in the Official List of measuring instruments subject to legal metrological control L.O. – 2012, approved by Order no. 148 / 2012 of the general director of BRML, published in the Official Gazette of Romania, Part I, no. 3611 / 29.05.2012, with subsequent amendments and completions, their code and name from LT, provided in the List of tariffs for works performed by the Romanian Bureau of Legal Metrology LT – 2009, published in the Official Gazette of Romania, Part I, no. 604 / 01.09.2009, with subsequent amendments and completions.*

In accordance with the provisions of art. 29(1) of the legal metrology instructions IML 5-05 Authorization of natural and legal persons who carry out metrological verifications, approved by Government Decision no. 1660/2005, with subsequent amendments and completions, any decision to deny the authorization shall be duly justified, communicated to the applicant within 10 working days from its adoption, and the decision shall specify the applicant's possibility to address the competent courts, under the law.
