Civil status documents (birth, marriage, death, or divorce certificates, extracts from the Civil Status Registry, in original and/or court decision for administrative reconstitution of civil status documents) in original and legalized copies for the holder and ascendants (parents, grandparents, great-grandparents), former Romanian citizens and with translation into Romanian, legalized, if applicable. In the case of documents issued by countries that are signatories of the Hague Convention, it is mandatory to apply the apostille, according to the law.*

Declaration on own responsibility, authenticated by a notary or by the diplomatic mission of Romania, stating whether the applicant wishes to acquire Romanian citizenship while keeping their residence abroad or establishing their residence in Romania. In the case of documents issued by countries that are signatories of the Hague Convention, applying the apostille is mandatory, according to the law;*

Declaration on own responsibility, authenticated by a notary or the Romanian diplomatic mission, indicating whether or not another application for acquiring Romanian citizenship has been previously submitted. Parental consent for the acquisition of Romanian citizenship by minor children, given through a declaration authenticated by a notary. Consent of minors over 14 years old for acquiring Romanian citizenship given by a notarized declaration in the presence of a parent*

The document proving the payment of the citizenship card fee, both for the holder and for minor children included in the application, as appropriate.
