This procedure regulates the recognition of the doctoral diploma and the doctoral title obtained abroad, in the accredited doctoral fields within IOSUD - National University of Theatre and Film; IOSUD-UNATC recognizes the doctoral diploma and doctoral title obtained at:

a) accredited higher education institutions from member states of the European Union, the European Economic Area, and from the Swiss Confederation; b) accredited higher education or research institutions included in the List of prestigious universities in other countries approved by order of the Minister of National Education and periodically updated; c) accredited higher education institutions that are subject to international mutual recognition agreements, concluded at intergovernmental or interuniversity level;

IOSUD-UNATC recognizes the doctoral diploma and doctoral title in sciences for the purpose of enrollment in postgraduate programs, obtaining habilitation, occupying a teaching or research position within the university.

​The recognition of the doctoral diploma and the doctoral title by the National University of Theatre and Film is valid and produces legal effects at the level of UNATC.

The title of doctor can be found in Annex 2 of Law no. 200 of 2004 regarding the recognition of diplomas and professional qualifications for regulated professions in Romania, with subsequent amendments and additions.*

The doctorate diploma subject to recognition is authenticated with the Hague Apostille for states that are parties to the Hague Apostille Convention, and for other states the study document is superlegalized or is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity issued by the competent authority in the country of origin. Exemption from apostille or superlegalization is permitted under the law, an international treaty to which Romania is a party, or on the basis of reciprocity.*
