This procedure describes how entities with legal personality can request an authorization renewal for the testing laboratories in construction. The authorization attests the legal competence to issue, under the law, documents stating the fulfilment of construction standards and quality standards of construction materials. The Authorization Renewal is free of charge and is granted every 4 years since the initial release of the authorization if the request is submitted with at least 45 days before the expiration date. If the request is not submitted and registered with at least 45 days before the expiration date, the initial authorization process will be resumed.

Appeal routes
In the event that the requirements for the renewal of the applicant laboratory’s authorization are not met, the authorization commission communicates to the applicant, through a written note, the decision to reject the renewal request, which may be appealed within 15 days from the date of notification. Appeals filed by the applicant legal entities whose renewal request was rejected are received by I.S.C. and are reviewed by the authorization commission together with all documents submitted in the file, which shall decide, as the case may be, to admit/reject the appeal.
