Natural persons who may benefit from lethal weapons are provided for in art. 13 of Law no. 295/2004 regarding the regime of weapons and ammunition. Legal persons under private law, which are not subordinated to or coordinated by public institutions, may be authorized under the conditions of this law, depending on their object of activity, to acquire, possess, and use lethal weapons. To obtain the authorization, the applicant submits an application accompanied by the necessary documents to the General Directorate of Police of the Municipality of Bucharest or to the county police inspectorate in whose territorial jurisdiction they have their domicile or residence. The authorization to acquire weapons is issued with a validity of 90 days, which may be extended by the authority that issued it, for well-founded reasons, for a new period of up to 90 days.

- Issuance of authorization / urgent processing / natural persons: 300.00 RON
- Issuance of authorization / normal processing / legal persons: 300.00 RON
- Issuance of authorization / urgent processing / legal persons: 500.00 RON
