The provisional identity card is issued in the following cases: - when the applicant does not present all the documents required for the issuance of the identity card; - in the case of Romanian citizens with domicile abroad, who are temporarily residing in Romania; - at the citizen's request, when they apply for the issuance of an electronic identity card or a simple identity card and the held identity document is no longer valid, has been lost/destroyed/damaged or, as the case may be, has been annulled as a result of marriage.
