Product Contact Point (PCP) of Regulation (EU) 2019/515 on the mutual recognition of goods lawfully marketed in another Member State, ensuring that economic operators are informed about the application of the legislation related to the free movement of goods in the EU Single Market.

The Product Contact Point shall provide, free of charge, information to economic operators on national rules applicable to products falling under non-harmonised legislation at EU level and subject to the principle of mutual recognition, as well as for those falling under harmonised EU legislation as provided for in Regulation (EU) 2019/1020 on market surveillance and compliance of products.

The Product Contact Point also facilitates communication between national authorities and economic operators on specific product rules and how European legislation is applied in Romania.

Within the Ministry of Economy, Digitalisation, Training and Tourism – Directorate for European Affairs and Internal Relations, the Product Contact Point operates at national level.

The principle of mutual recognition shall ensure the free movement of goods which fulfil the following conditions:

  • Not covered by harmonised EU legislation
  • Are lawfully marketed in another EU Member State
  • Compatible with technical rules in one Member State and may be marketed in another Member State
