The College of Pharmacists of Brașov County*

In order to proceed with the issuance of a duplicate Member Certificate of the College of Pharmacists of Romania, the applicant must submit the complete documentation at the headquarters of the Bucharest College of Pharmacists, in accordance with the provisions of Decision no. 4/2004 of the National Council of the College of Pharmacists of Romania, the documents presented below.

Resumption of membership is done based on an application, which the applicant, the pharmacist, submits at the headquarters of the territorial College, respectively the College of Pharmacists Bucharest, through which they request the resumption of membership starting from a certain date.

The suspension of membership occurs when the applicant, the pharmacist, for certain reasons wishes to interrupt their activity for a certain period of time and submits to the headquarters of the territorial College, namely the College of Pharmacists Bucharest, a request through which they ask for the suspension of membership. At the time of requesting this suspension, the pharmacist must have paid the membership fee up to the end of the year and must meet the requirement of continuous professional education with a number of 40 EFC hours for the respective period.

The pharmacist is obliged to inform the College of Pharmacists of Romania within 30 days from the resumption of activity.

The transfer note is issued by the college where the pharmacist is registered, based on a request. Before issuing the transfer note, the requesting pharmacist is required to pay up to date the dues owed to the college from which they wish to leave. The transfer note will be handed, under signature, to the applicant.

In the register of pharmacists (https://portal.tm-c.eu/LstFarma/ColegFarm), the college to which the pharmacist has been transferred will be mentioned. If a complaint has been filed at the level of the college from which the pharmacist is transferring or if a disciplinary investigation has been initiated, the complaint, or the disciplinary file, will be sent to the college to which the pharmacist is transferring.

Regarding the Current Professional Certificate, we would like to make the following clarifications:

In accordance with the provisions of the Pharmacy Law no. 266/2008 in its consolidated form as published in the Official Gazette no. 448/30.06.2009 Part I, as well as the Application Norms published in the Official Gazette no. 538/03.07.2009 Part I, pharmacists who will hold the position of chief pharmacist in a pharmacy unit (in cases of establishment of new pharmacy units, as well as changes of chief pharmacist – for those who will take over the chief position), will address the county colleges to obtain the Current Professional Certificate.

Also, this document is necessary for pharmacists who wish to practice their profession outside the country.

The methodology for drafting and issuing the Current Professional Certificate was established by Decision of the National Council of the College of Pharmacists of Romania no. 1/2007, decision published in the Official Gazette of Romania Part I no. 324 of 15.05.2007.

Below we present the main provisions of Decision no. 1/2007, as follows:

- The Current Professional Certificate will be drafted by the College of Pharmacists of Romania and issued by the territorial college where the applicant is registered;

- The validity of the Current Professional Certificate is 3 months from the date of issuance;

- Within a maximum of three days from receiving the request for issuance of the Current Professional Certificate, the territorial college will send the standard application form to the College of Pharmacists of Romania for drafting and issuing the document;

- Within a maximum of 30 days from receipt of the application, the College of Pharmacists of Romania will draft the certificate and send it to the territorial college;

- The Current Professional Certificate will be issued by the College of Pharmacists of Romania, which will draft and send it to the territorial college;

- The territorial college will draft a Register of Records – with the identification data of the Current Professional Certificates issued to pharmacists in the respective county – and will hand them to the applicants against signature of receipt.

The fee for the issuance of the Current Professional Certificate, in the amount of 100 lei, will be paid into the account of the territorial College RO75 RNCB 0053 1505 8713 0001.

The membership certificate is granted to pharmacists who, upon making an express request to this effect, meet the following conditions: hold an official pharmacy qualification, are not found in any cases of unworthiness or incompatibility provided by law, are medically fit to practice as a pharmacist, have not interrupted the practice of the profession for more than 5 years or have obtained their degree in the last 5 years, have paid the registration fee (the fee is to be paid to the territorial college account in the amount of 208 lei for persons who registered within 1 YEAR of graduation and 235 lei for other persons).
