Technical University of Cluj-Napoca*

Through this procedure, the teaching positions obtained in an accredited foreign higher education institution are automatically recognized by the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca.

The procedure applies to Romanian citizens and citizens of EU member states, the European Economic Area, and the Swiss Confederation, who have obtained a teaching position in higher education institutions accredited by EU member states, the European Economic Area, the Swiss Confederation, and in prestigious universities from other countries included in the "list of prestigious universities from other countries" approved by OMENCS no. 5825/2016 and periodically updated, for the purpose of settling in Romania. The procedure implements OMENCS 5922/2016 for the approval of the Methodology regarding the automatic recognition, by higher education institutions, of teaching positions in higher education obtained in accredited foreign higher education institutions.

The exercise of the rights conferred by the teaching position is carried out according to the legal regulations in force.

Fees

The fee for the habilitation exam is 1200 EUR. For people from UTCN, the fee is 900 EUR.

The registration fee for the competitions for teaching positions is 50 RON.

The processing fee for the admission colloquium for teaching degrees in pre-university education is 50 RON.

Through this methodology, the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca automatically recognizes the doctoral diploma and the doctoral title obtained from an accredited higher education institution abroad.

The methodology applies to Romanian citizens and citizens of EU member states, the European Economic Area, or the Swiss Confederation, who have obtained the doctoral diploma and the doctoral title from higher education institutions accredited by EU member states, the European Economic Area, or the Swiss Confederation, as well as from prestigious universities in other countries included in the "list of prestigious universities in other countries" approved by OMENCS no. 5825/2016 and periodically updated, for the purpose of establishing themselves on the territory of Romania. The procedure implements OMENCS no. 5923/2016 for the approval of the Methodology regarding the recognition of the doctoral diploma and the doctoral title in sciences or a professional domain, obtained abroad.

The exercise of the rights conferred by the doctoral diploma and the doctoral title is carried out according to the legal regulations in force.

Fees

The fee for undertaking compensatory measures in view of recognizing bachelor's, master's or postgraduate study documents issued by accredited higher education institutions abroad is 150 RON.

The application fee for doctoral admission is 150 RON.

The annual tuition fee for fee-paying doctoral students enrolled starting with the academic year 2012/2013 is 1000 EUR.

The annual tuition fee for fee-paying doctoral students who are employees of UTCN and/or in the national education system/in national research institutions is 500 EUR.

The fee for the doctoral thesis defense for fee-paying doctoral students is 1000 EUR.

The annual fee for exceeding the funding period (doctoral students admitted with budgeted funding who have not accumulated 180 credits during the training period) - for doctoral students admitted after 2011, is 200 EUR.

The fee for public defense of the thesis outside the funding period (for doctoral students admitted on a budget) is 800 EUR for doctoral students employed at UTCN and employees in other universities or in the national education system/national research institutions, and 1000 EUR for other types of doctoral students.
