The allowance is granted based on an application and a declaration on one's own responsibility, accompanied by supporting documents regarding the family composition, its income, and, if applicable, regarding the school attendance of the dependent children.

Required documents for the file (copies):

– application and declaration on one's own responsibility;

– identity documents of the applicants;

– birth certificates of the children, their identity cards (if applicable);

– marriage certificate or family register;

– the final decision approving adoption, family placement of the minor, according to the law;

– a document proving the applicant's status as tutor or guardian;

– documents proving that a family member attends a form of education (school attendance certificate for all school-aged children in the family; exceptions are made for school-aged children with severe or accentuated disabilities, for whom proof issued by the competent authorities must be provided attesting that the respective child cannot be enrolled in any form of education as provided by law);

– documents proving inclusion in the category of persons with severe or accentuated disabilities or degree I or II of invalidity, for dependents;

– net income earned (the month preceding the application) and supporting documents as mentioned in the application form (certificates regarding net salary, pension slips, unemployment aid, state allowance coupon, etc);

In the case of consensual union (cohabitation), considered a beneficiary family, documents regarding the family composition and income for the applicant’s partner must also be presented.

Social aid is granted monthly to supplement the net monthly incomes of the single person/family, in order to provide the guaranteed minimum income. The payment of social aid is ensured by the County Agency for Payments and Social Inspection Galați, from the budget of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection.
