Recognition of the professional qualification of probation counselor based on a qualification title*
The recognition of professional qualifications based on a qualification title allows the applicant to have access to the profession of probation counselor in Romania under the same conditions as Romanian citizens, namely to participate in the competition provided for in art. 19-21 of Law no. 123/2006 regarding the status of probation staff, as subsequently amended and supplemented.
By qualification title is meant any diploma or other official qualification title issued by an authority from a member state of the European Union, the European Economic Area, or the Swiss Confederation, under the conditions of art. 51 para. (2) of Law no. 200/2004, as subsequently amended and supplemented.
Competition stages:
1. Publishing the competition announcement and candidate registration

3. Filing appeals regarding the selection of files
4. Resolving appeals and posting results after the selection of files
5. Written test/ posting the grading scheme
6. Appeal regarding the grading scheme

8. Grading the papers and publishing the results of the written test

Recognition of professional qualification as probation counselor based on professional experience*
The procedure is intended for any citizen of a member state of the European Union, the European Economic Area, or the Swiss Confederation who wishes to practice the profession of probation counselor in Romania.
The procedure for testing skills and Romanian language knowledge, in order to recognize the applicant's professional qualification, is carried out under the conditions of Law no. 123/2006 regarding the status of probation staff, with subsequent amendments and completions, as well as Law no. 200/2004 regarding the recognition of diplomas and professional qualifications for regulated professions in Romania, with subsequent amendments and completions.
The professional qualification of probation counselor is certified based on a qualification title or, as the case may be, professional experience.
Recognition of the professional qualification based on professional experience grants the applicant the right to exercise the profession of probation counselor in Romania under the same conditions as Romanian citizens, and they may be employed in a vacant position with the grade corresponding to the recognized seniority.
Professional experience means the effective and legal exercise, with full-time or partial equivalent, of the profession of probation counselor in a member state of the European Union, the European Economic Area, or the Swiss Confederation.
