Automatic recognition of teaching positions in higher education obtained at accredited higher education institutions abroad*

This procedure regulates the automatic recognition by the "Ferdinand I" Technical Military Academy of teaching positions in university education obtained in accredited foreign university educational institutions.

The “Ferdinand I” Technical Military Academy offers automatic recognition if the applicant has obtained the teaching position within an EU-accredited higher education institution, from the European Economic Area or Switzerland, or from institutions included in the List of prestigious universities from other countries approved by OM no. 5826/2016.

The recognition of the teaching position is carried out by the rector's decision, issued within 30 days based on the resolution of the Evaluation Committee. Exercising rights and holding a teaching position in the Romanian higher education system is conducted according to the legal norms in force.

Methodology regarding the automatic recognition by the "FERDINAND I" Military Technical Academy of the doctoral diploma and the title of doctor in sciences obtained from accredited higher education institutions abroad*

This methodology establishes the way in which the Military Technical Academy “Ferdinand I” recognizes doctoral diplomas and the title of doctor of sciences obtained abroad, observing the principle of legality, university autonomy, transparency, responsibility, and the ethical and deontological norms in force. The Military Technical Academy “Ferdinand I” recognizes doctoral diplomas and the title of doctor of sciences obtained from:

  • Accredited higher education or research and development institutions from a member state of the European Union, the European Economic Area, or the Swiss Confederation;
  • Accredited higher education or research and development institutions included in the List of prestigious universities from other states, approved by order of the Minister of National Education and periodically updated;
  • Accredited higher education or research and development institutions that are part of an international mutual recognition agreement, concluded at intergovernmental or inter-university level.

The provisions of this methodology apply to Romanian citizens, citizens from member states of the European Union, the European Economic Area, the Swiss Confederation, and citizens from third countries.
This methodology is valid and produces legal effects only at the level of the Military Technical Academy "Ferdinand I".

Methodology regarding the automatic recognition by the "FERDINAND I" Military Technical Academy of the quality of doctoral supervisor obtained in accredited foreign higher education institutions*

Through this methodology, the status of doctoral supervisor obtained at an accredited foreign university institution is automatically recognized within the “Ferdinand I” Military Technical Academy. The methodology applies to Romanian citizens and citizens of member states of the European Union, the European Economic Area, and the Swiss Confederation who have obtained the status of doctoral supervisor in accredited university institutions from member states of the European Union, the European Economic Area, the Swiss Confederation, and prestigious universities in other states included in the “List of prestigious universities in other countries” approved by OMECTS 5825/2016 and periodically updated, for the purpose of establishing in Romania.
Only in the case of temporary exercise, the provisions of Law no. 200/2004 and art. 203 of Law 199/2023 on higher education apply directly:

(1) Reserved, vacant, or temporarily vacant academic positions are filled by tenured academic staff of the institution or by associated academic staff, paid by the hour, according to this law.
(2) Employment of specialists with recognized scientific and professional research value in the field … .

The exercise of rights granted by the status of doctoral supervisor and holding an academic position in the Romanian higher education system is carried out according to the regulations in force.
