The operational procedure presents the way in which the recruitment, evaluation, training of persons who want to become professional foster carers is carried out, as well as the certification of professional foster carers capable of ensuring the upbringing and care of children temporarily or permanently separated from their parents. The professional foster carer is the natural person, certified under the conditions of Government Decision no. 679/2003, who, through the activity carried out at their home, ensures the upbringing, care, and education necessary for the harmonious development of the children they receive in placement. The person who wishes to obtain the certificate of professional foster carer submits an evaluation request for the purpose of obtaining the certificate of professional foster carer, addressed to DGASPC Botoșani, to which they attach supporting documents (copies of civil status documents and study documents, judicial record). Following the evaluation, applicants will submit a request for the issuance of the certificate of professional foster carer to the Botoșani Child Protection Commission, in which it is mandatory to mention the number of children for whom the applicant considers they can simultaneously provide optimal care conditions, the age group and sex of these children, and the availability to care for children with special needs.
