Buzau College of Pharmacists*

The certificate of membership is granted to pharmacists who, upon making an explicit request to this effect, meet the following conditions: they hold an official qualification in pharmacy, are not in any cases of unworthiness or incompatibility provided by law, are medically fit to practice as a pharmacist, have not interrupted the practice of the profession for more than 5 years or have obtained their degree in the last 5 years, have paid the registration fee (the fee is paid into the account of the territorial college RO58 CECEBZ0137RON0162808 in the amount of 10% of the minimum wage at the time of registration, according to CFR Decision no.2 of 15 June 2009).

The suspension of membership occurs when the applicant, the pharmacist, for certain reasons wishes to interrupt their activity for a certain period of time and submits to the headquarters of the territorial College, namely the Buzău College of Pharmacists, a request by which they ask for the suspension of their membership. At the time they request this suspension, the pharmacist must have paid the membership fee up to the end of the year.

Regarding the Current Professional Certificate, we would like to make the following clarifications:

According to the provisions of the Pharmacy Law no. 266/2008 in the consolidated form as published in the Official Gazette no. 448/30.06.2009 Part I, as well as the Implementation Norms published in the Official Gazette no. 538/03.07.2009 Part I, pharmacists who will hold the position of chief pharmacist in a pharmaceutical unit (in cases of establishing new pharmaceutical units, as well as changes of chief pharmacist - for those taking over the chief position), will apply to the county colleges to obtain the Current Professional Certificate.

Also, this document is necessary for pharmacists who wish to practice their profession outside the country's borders.

The methodology for preparing and issuing the Current Professional Certificate was established by the Decision of the National Council of C.F.R. no.1/2007, and revised by Decision no.1 of 15.09.2023

We present below the main provisions of Decision no.1/2007, as follows:

- The Current Professional Certificate will be prepared by the College of Pharmacists of Romania and issued by the territorial college at which the applicant is registered;

- The validity of the Current Professional Certificate is 3 months from the date of issuance;

- Within a maximum of three days from receiving the request for issuance of the Current Professional Certificate, the territorial college will send to the College of Pharmacists of Romania the standard application for preparing and issuing the document;

- Within a maximum of 10 days from receiving the request, C.F.R. will prepare the certificate and send it to the territorial college;

- The Current Professional Certificate will be issued by the College of Pharmacists of Romania, which will prepare it and send it to the territorial college;

- The territorial college will prepare a Register of records - with identification data of the Current Professional Certificates issued to pharmacists in the respective county - and will hand them over to the applicants with proof of receipt.

The issuance fee for the Current Professional Certificate, according to Decision no.1 of November 21, 2024, is 150 lei.

The resumption of membership is done based on an application, which the applicant, the pharmacist, submits at the headquarters of the Territorial College, namely the College of Pharmacists Buzau, through which they request the resumption of membership starting from a certain date.

The transfer note is issued by the college where the pharmacist is registered, based on a request.

Before issuing the transfer note, the requesting pharmacist is obliged to pay up-to-date the membership fee owed to the college from which they wish to leave. The transfer note will be handed, under signature, to the applicant. In the pharmacist’s registry (https://portal.tm-c.eu/LstFarma/ColegFarm), the college to which the pharmacist has transferred will be mentioned. If a complaint has been recorded at the college from which the pharmacist is transferring or if a disciplinary investigation has been initiated, the complaint or the disciplinary file will be sent to the college to which the pharmacist is transferring.

In order to proceed with the issuance of a duplicate of the Membership Certificate of the College of Pharmacists of Romania, the applicant must submit the complete documentation at the headquarters of the Buzau College, according to the provisions of Decision no.4/2004 of the National Council of the College of Pharmacists of Romania, the documents presented below.
