The application for the registration of a geographical indication and the acquisition of protection for spirit drinks, the model of which is provided in the annex, as well as the accompanying documentation, as specified in art. 10 para (2) of Regulation (EU) 2024/1.143, are prepared by the applicant defined in art. 2 letter k) of Government Decision no. 537/2022, with subsequent amendments and completions. The accompanying documentation for the application for registration of a geographical indication for spirit drinks may also include: a) information regarding sustainable practices; b) information explaining any proposed limitations regarding the use or protection of the geographical indication, as well as any transitional measures proposed by the applicant, if applicable; c) data, documents, bibliographic references, or other evidence demonstrating the historical link between the production of the product and the geographical area, as appropriate; d) a color map of suitable size allowing precise delimitation of the geographical area; e) other data and information demonstrating the necessity of acquiring protection.*
