In order to encourage school attendance, in 2002 the School Supplies Program was launched, addressing students in public education, primary and secondary, daytime courses. At the beginning of each school year, packages with school supplies specific to each class are distributed.
The composition of the school supply packages granted to students is established based on the Methodology for implementing the provisions of Law no. 126/2002 for the approval of Government Emergency Ordinance no. 33/2001 regarding the provision of school supplies.
Funding request submitted by the Ministry of National Education, at the beginning of September 2017, through the Operational Programme Assistance for Disadvantaged Persons (POAD) 2014-2020, was approved. The decision allows, starting from this school year, the purchase of supplies for preschoolers, and the supplementation with backpacks of the school supply packages granted to students in the primary and secondary cycles.
