The procedure regarding the automatic recognition, by the University of Medicine and Pharmacy of Craiova, of teaching positions in higher education obtained in accredited higher education institutions abroad implements the provisions of Order MENCȘ no. 5922/2016.

General provisions

(1) Teaching positions in higher education obtained in accredited higher education institutions in member states of the European Union, of the European Economic Area, from the Swiss Confederation, and from prestigious universities in other countries included in the List of prestigious universities in other states, approved by order of the Minister of National Education and Scientific Research and periodically updated, are automatically recognized by the University of Medicine and Pharmacy of Craiova according to the legislative provisions in force.

(2) Teaching positions obtained at other accredited higher education institutions than those mentioned in paragraph (1) are recognized only on the basis of an international mutual recognition agreement, concluded at intergovernmental or interuniversity level.

(3) The provisions of this regulation apply to Romanian citizens, citizens of member states of the European Union, the European Economic Area, the Swiss Confederation, and citizens of third states.

(4) Occupying a teaching position in the Romanian higher education system is carried out according to the legal norms in force.

(5) The University of Medicine and Pharmacy of Craiova consults, where appropriate, the National Center for Recognition and Equivalence of Diplomas (hereinafter referred to as CNRED) and the National Council for Attestation of University Titles, Diplomas and Certificates for the analysis and approval of the recognition of teaching positions obtained abroad.

(6) The recognition of teaching positions by the University of Medicine and Pharmacy of Craiova is valid and produces legal effects at the level of the University of Medicine and Pharmacy of Craiova.

(7) The recognition of teaching positions by CNRED is valid and produces legal effects throughout the territory of Romania.

(8) Upon the proposal of the Administration Council, the University Senate establishes a commission that evaluates the recognition file and pronounces a solution regarding the recognition request.

Required documents

The recognition file includes the following documents:

a) recognition application;

b) identity document - copy - and proof of name change - copy and certified translation (if applicable);

c) PhD diploma, if the qualification was obtained in Romania or at one of the accredited higher education institutions, or the certificate of recognition issued by CNRED, if the qualification was obtained at other accredited higher education institutions abroad;

d) proof of teaching position, issued by the originating institutions

e) self-evaluation grid endorsed by the University Scientific Committee and the Academic Vice-Rector.

f) the sheet of compliance with the minimum criteria established by the Senate for holding a teaching position at UMFCV

g) the file analysis and processing fee for obtaining recognition of the teaching position obtained abroad in the amount established by the University Senate in accordance with the legal provisions in force.

The University of Medicine and Pharmacy of Craiova may request, as the case may be, other documents, in accordance with the criteria established in its own procedures.

Application processing time

The processing time for the recognition file is 60 days from the date of submission of the recognition application for the teaching position.

Appeal period

The appeal period is 5 days from the date of communication of the response.

Final documents

(1) The report of the commission evaluating the recognition file in which it pronounces a solution regarding the recognition request.

(2) The recognition or non-recognition decision is issued after the approval of the University Senate by the Rector of UMFCV.
