Regarding the Current Professional Certificate, we would like to make the following clarifications:

In accordance with the provisions of the Pharmacy Law no. 266/2008 in the consolidated form as published in the Official Gazette no. 448/30.06.2009 Part I, as well as the Application Norms published in the Official Gazette no. 538/03.07.2009 Part I, pharmacists who will hold the position of chief pharmacist in a pharmaceutical unit (in cases of establishing new pharmaceutical units, as well as changes of the chief pharmacist - for those who will take over the position), will address the county colleges for obtaining the Current Professional Certificate.

Also, this document is necessary for pharmacists who wish to practice their profession outside the country's borders.

The methodology for the preparation and issuance of the Current Professional Certificate was established by The Decision of the National Council of C.F.R. no. 1/2007, and revised by Decision no. 1 from 15.09.2023

Below we present the main provisions of Decision no. 1/2007, as follows:
- The Current Professional Certificate will be prepared by the College of Pharmacists of Romania and issued by the territorial college where the applicant is registered;
- The validity of the Current Professional Certificate is 3 months from the date of issue;

- Within a maximum of three days from receiving the request for issuance of the Current Professional Certificate, the territorial college will send the standard application to the College of Pharmacists of Romania for the preparation and issuance of the document;
- Within a maximum of 10 days from receiving the application, the C.F.R. will prepare the certificate and send it to the territorial college;
- The Current Professional Certificate will be issued by the College of Pharmacists of Romania, which will prepare it and send it to the territorial college;
- The territorial college will prepare a Register of evidence – with the identification data of the Current Professional Certificates issued to the pharmacists in that county – and will deliver them to the applicants against a signature of receipt.

The issuance fee for the current professional certificate, according to Decision no. 1 from November 21, 2024, is 150 lei.
