Regarding the Current Professional Certificate, we would like to make the following clarifications: In accordance with the provisions of the Pharmacy Law no. 266/2008 in its consolidated form as published in the Official Gazette no. 448/30.06.2009 part I, as well as the implementing rules published in the Official Gazette no. 538/03.07.2009 part I, pharmacists who will hold the position of chief pharmacist in a pharmaceutical unit (in cases of establishment of new pharmaceutical units, as well as changes of chief pharmacist - for those who will take over the position), will address the county colleges to obtain the Current Professional Certificate. Also, this document is needed by pharmacists who want to practice their profession outside the country's borders. The methodology for drafting and issuing the Current Professional Certificate was established by Decision of the National Council of the College of Pharmacists of Romania no. 1/2007, decision published in the Official Gazette of Romania Part I no. 324 of 15.05.2007. Below we present the main provisions of Decision no. 1/2007, as follows:

- The Current Professional Certificate will be prepared by the College of Pharmacists of Romania and issued by the territorial college where the applicant is registered; - The validity of the Current Professional Certificate is 3 months from the date of issue;

- Within a maximum of three days from receiving the request for issuing the Current Professional Certificate, the territorial college will send the standard request for the preparation and issuance of the document to the College of Pharmacists of Romania;

- Within a maximum of 30 days from receiving the request, the College of Pharmacists of Romania will prepare the certificate and send it to the territorial college;

- The Current Professional Certificate will be issued by the College of Pharmacists of Romania, which will prepare it and send it to the territorial college;

- The territorial college will prepare a Registry of records - with the identification data of the Current Professional Certificates issued to pharmacists in the respective county - and will deliver them to applicants under signature of receipt. The fee for issuing the Current Professional Certificate, amounting to 100 lei, will be paid into the account of the territorial College (RO22 RZBR 0000 0600 1439 8871 Raiffeisen Bank).

To obtain the Current Professional Certificate, the pharmacist will submit to the territorial college a file which will include the documents attached in the “necessary documents” section.
