The professional maternal assistant is the individual, certified according to the law, who ensures through their activity at their home the upbringing, care, and education necessary for the harmonious development of the children they receive in placement. Persons residing in Maramures County who wish to become a professional maternal assistant will submit an evaluation request of their capacity to the Maramures General Directorate of Social Assistance and Child Protection, the request being accompanied by the documents mentioned below. The professional maternal assistant's certificate is issued for a period of 3 years by the Maramures Child Protection Commission.

The person who considers themselves wronged by the response received from DGASPC Maramures may address the administrative litigation court under Law no. 544/2004.
