Regarding the Current Professional Certificate, we would like to make the following clarifications:

In accordance with the provisions of Pharmacy Law no. 266/2008 in its consolidated form as published in Official Gazette no. 448/30.06.2009 Part I, as well as the Application Norms published in Official Gazette no. 538/03.07.2009 Part I, pharmacists who will hold the position of chief pharmacist in a pharmaceutical unit (in cases of setting up new pharmaceutical units, as well as changes of chief pharmacist – for those who will take over the position), must contact the county college for obtaining the Current Professional Certificate.

Additionally, this document is necessary for pharmacists who wish to practice their profession outside the country's borders.

The methodology for preparing and issuing the Current Professional Certificate was established by the Decision of the National Council of C.F.R. no. 1/2007, decision published in the Official Gazette of Romania Part I no. 324 dated 15.05.2007.

Below we present the main provisions of Decision no. 1/2007, as follows:
- The Current Professional Certificate will be prepared by the Romanian College of Pharmacists and issued by the territorial college with which the applicant is registered;
- The validity of the Current Professional Certificate is 3 months from the date of issuance;
- Within a maximum of three days from receiving the request for issuance of the Current Professional Certificate, the territorial college will send the standard request form to the Romanian College of Pharmacists for preparing and issuing the document;
- Within a maximum of 30 days from receiving the request, C.F.R. will prepare the certificate and send it to the territorial college;
- The Current Professional Certificate will be issued by the Romanian College of Pharmacists, which will prepare it and send it to the territorial college;
- The territorial college will prepare a Registry of records – with identification data of the Current Professional Certificates issued to pharmacists in the respective county – and will hand them over to applicants with receipt signature.

To obtain the Current Professional Certificate, the pharmacist will submit to the territorial college a file containing the documents attached below.
