Based on ANSVSA Order no. 16/2010, with subsequent amendments and completions, the control points are authorized by the county sanitary-veterinary and food safety directorates, respectively of the municipality of Bucharest.
For obtaining the sanitary veterinary authorization for the control point, the economic operator sends the request to the county sanitary-veterinary and food safety directorate, respectively of the municipality of Bucharest, if the control point previously meets all the requirements provided in annex no.1 to Council Regulation (EC) no. 1255/97 regarding the community criteria provided for waiting points and itinerary change foreseen in the annex to Directive 91/628/EEC, with subsequent amendments. When the authorization file is complete, the applicant will be informed about the visit of the Evaluation Commission appointed by DSVSA to check the general and specific operating conditions and to complete the evaluation report on the basis of which the sanitary-veterinary authorization is issued, if the sanitary-veterinary requirements are met. The county sanitary-veterinary and food safety directorate, respectively of the municipality of Bucharest, issues the sanitary-veterinary authorization for the operation of the control point, which may be limited for a certain species or for several categories of animals or health statuses. The sanitary-veterinary authorizations for control points each have a unique code, assigned by the county sanitary-veterinary and food safety directorates, respectively of the municipality of Bucharest. The National Sanitary Veterinary and Food Safety Authority submits to the European Commission the list of authorized control points.
