Details

Through this procedure, the status of doctoral supervisor or habilitation obtained at an accredited higher education institution abroad, listed in the List of prestigious universities from other states, or at accredited higher education institutions subject to an international mutual recognition agreement concluded at intergovernmental or inter-university level, is recognized. It applies to citizens of a member state of the European Union, the European Economic Area, and the Swiss Confederation.

The resolution period for the recognition file is 30 days from the moment the application is submitted, and the appeal can be filed within 30 days from the communication of the result, and its resolution is made within a maximum of 90 days from the appeal. The recognition file is evaluated by an evaluation committee, consisting of three teaching staff members appointed by the Department Council that manages the branch of science in which the doctoral degree is granted, and they pronounce a solution regarding the recognition request, which is validated by the Department Council. The teaching staff in the committee must hold a doctoral degree in the same branch of science or in a related branch. Appeals are submitted for approval to the University Senate, which appoints a re-evaluation committee, consisting of three teaching staff members different from those in the initial committee, to re-analyze the recognition file. The solution of the committee appointed by the Senate is final and is validated in the first session of this body.
