The evaluation of units is the official control technique carried out to verify food business operators regarding compliance with legislative requirements in the field of food safety, performed through examination and analysis of objective evidence. As a result of the evaluation, the unit is placed into a risk category that determines the frequency with which official control actions are planned and carried out.
The evaluation of units and their classification into risk categories is carried out at predetermined time intervals, specified in Chapter II, letter D of Annex II to Order of the ANSVSA President no. 35/2016 - Methodological norms for the application of the Surveillance and Control Program in the field of food safety.
The operator may request the re-evaluation of the unit for reclassification into risk categories, no more than once per year. The request for re-evaluation is made with the necessary justification (interventions carried out in the unit that led to changes in the situation that was the basis of the previous evaluation, changes to the evaluated points)

If the economic operators are dissatisfied with the outcome of the request, they may file an appeal within the deadlines and under the conditions provided by Law no. 554/2004 on administrative litigation, as amended and supplemented.
