The provisions of this procedure apply to Romanian citizens, citizens of European Union member states, of the European Economic Area, of the Swiss Confederation, and citizens from third countries who hold academic teaching positions in higher education obtained from accredited higher education institutions abroad. The "George Emil Palade" University of Medicine, Pharmacy, Science, and Technology of Târgu Mureș automatically recognizes the academic teaching positions of applicants who have obtained these positions: a. in accredited higher education or research and development institutions from a member state of the European Union, the European Economic Area, or the Swiss Confederation; b. in accredited higher education or research and development institutions included on the List of prestigious universities from other countries (https://cnred.edu.ro/ro/universitati-de-top), approved by Order of the Minister of National Education, updated periodically; c. in accredited higher education or research and development institutions that are subject to international conventions of mutual recognition, concluded at intergovernmental or interuniversity level. Occupying a teaching position in the Romanian higher education system is carried out in accordance with the legal regulations in force. It is not equivalent to occupying a teaching and research position within the university; for this purpose, the provisions of the Methodology for occupying teaching and research positions apply. UMFST G.E. Palade Tg. Mureș consults, if necessary, the National Center for Recognition and Equivalence of Diplomas (CNRED) and the National Council for the Certification of Titles, Diplomas, and University Certificates (CNADTCU). The recognition of the teaching position obtained abroad, in accordance with this procedure, is valid and produces legal effects at UMFST G.E. Palade Tg. Mureș. The recognition of the teaching position by CNRED is valid and produces legal effects throughout Romania. The processing time for recognizing teaching positions obtained in accredited higher education institutions abroad is a maximum of 30 working days from the date of submission of the documents and registration of the application. For the analysis of files, a processing fee set annually by the University Senate shall be charged.
