The provisions of this procedure apply to Romanian citizens, citizens of member states of the European Union, the European Economic Area, the Swiss Confederation, and citizens of third countries who hold academic positions in higher education obtained from accredited foreign higher education institutions. The “George Emil Palade” University of Medicine, Pharmacy, Science and Technology from Targu Mures automatically recognizes the academic positions for applicants who have obtained these positions: a. in accredited higher education or research and development institutions from a member state of the European Union, the European Economic Area, or the Swiss Confederation; b. in accredited higher education or research and development institutions included in the List of prestigious universities from other states (https://cnred.edu.ro/ro/universitati-de-top), approved by Ministerial Order of the National Ministry of Education, periodically updated; c. in accredited higher education or research and development institutions subject to international conventions of mutual recognition, concluded at the intergovernmental or inter-university level. Occupying an academic position in the Romanian higher education system is carried out according to the legal regulations in force. It is not equivalent to occupying an academic and research position within the university, for this purpose the provisions of the Methodology for occupying academic and research positions are valid. UMFST G.E. Palade Tg. Mureş consults, if necessary, the National Center for Recognition and Equivalence of Diplomas (CNRED) and the National Council for the Certification of University Titles, Diplomas, and Certificates (CNADTCU). The recognition of the academic position obtained abroad, in accordance with this procedure, is valid and produces legal effects at the level of UMFST G.E. Palade Tg. Mureş. The recognition of the academic position by CNRED is valid and produces legal effects throughout the territory of Romania. The processing time for the recognition of academic positions obtained in accredited foreign higher education institutions is a maximum of 30 working days from the date of submission and registration of the application. For the evaluation of the files, a processing fee will be charged, established annually by the University Senate.
