This methodology establishes the procedure for recognizing, within the University of Art and Design in Cluj-Napoca, the doctoral diploma and the title of doctor in sciences or in a professional field, obtained abroad. The provisions of this methodology apply to Romanian citizens, citizens of Member States of the European Union, of the European Economic Area, of the Swiss Confederation, and citizens of third states who have obtained a doctoral diploma and the title of doctor in sciences or in a professional field, obtained abroad at accredited higher education institutions from Member States of the European Union, of the European Economic Area, of the Swiss Confederation, and at prestigious universities in other states included in the "List of prestigious universities from other states," approved by OMECTS nr. 5825/2016 and periodically updated.

The decision of recognition or non-recognition can be appealed within 48 hours from the announcement of the solution or the recognition certificate. The appeal will be analyzed by an Appeals Committee appointed by the Rector of UAD from Cluj-Napoca. The Appeals Committee will provide a response within 10 days from receiving the appeal. If the applicant is not satisfied with the solution of the Appeals Committee, they may address the competent court, Cluj Tribunal, Mixed Administrative and Fiscal Contentious Section, within the legal term of 30 days.
