The National University of Music Bucharest (UNMB) is an accredited institution of higher education, in accordance with legal norms, and in this capacity, it automatically recognizes teaching positions in university education obtained in accredited higher education institutions from member states of the European Union, the European Economic Area, the Swiss Confederation, and in prestigious higher education institutions from other countries included in the "List of prestigious universities from other countries," approved by order of the Minister of Education and updated periodically.
Teaching positions obtained at accredited higher education institutions, other than those mentioned above, are recognized only if the applicant meets the standards established by UNMB for occupying the respective teaching position, as provided in the Competition Methodology for filling vacant teaching and research positions within UNMB, in force at the date of submission of the application file.
The provisions of this methodology apply to Romanian citizens, citizens of member states of the European Union, the European Economic Area, the Swiss Confederation, and citizens from third countries.
The recognition by the National University of Music Bucharest of teaching positions in university education obtained in accredited university education institutions abroad is valid and produces legal effects only at the level of UNMB.
This methodology describes the procedure for recognizing teaching positions in university education obtained in accredited university education institutions abroad, in compliance with the provisions of the legislation in force and the decision of the UNMB Senate, as necessary, for the purpose of:
a) undertaking teaching activities provided in the UNMB function states (including evaluation) or additional activities thereto, with the approval of the UNMB management, including as an associate teaching staff member or associate-invited teaching staff member;
b) participating in the competition committees for filling vacant teaching and research positions.

Appointment to a teaching position in the Romanian system of higher education is carried out in accordance with the legislation in force.

The teaching profession is found at position no. A.8 from Annex no. 2 of Law no. 200 of 2004 on the recognition of diplomas and professional qualifications for regulated professions in Romania, with subsequent amendments and completions.*

Appeal routes
If the Evaluation Report is not in favor of the applicant, they have the right to file an appeal within three working days from the date of communication of the evaluation result.
Appeals can only be submitted for non-compliance with legal procedures during the evaluation process, only by the applicant, and only for their own file. The appeal is submitted to the UNMB Registry.
The Appeal Resolution Committee issues the decision within 3 working days. The decision of the Appeal Resolution Committee is final, is forwarded in writing to the university rector, who issues the final decision and communicates it to the applicant within 5 working days from the date of issuance.
