This procedure regulates the automatic recognition of the status of doctoral supervisor obtained in accredited higher education institutions abroad.

The procedure regarding the automatic recognition by the “George Enescu” National University of Arts in Iași (hereinafter UNAGE) of the status of doctoral supervisor obtained in accredited higher education institutions abroad is drafted based on ORDER no. 5.921/06.12.2016 of the Ministry of National Education and Scientific Research for the approval of the Methodology regarding the automatic recognition of the status of doctoral supervisor obtained in accredited higher education institutions abroad, published in the OFFICIAL GAZETTE no. 1.007 of December 15, 2016.

UNAGE, as an accredited higher education institution and an institution organizing doctoral studies in Romania, automatically recognizes the status of doctoral supervisor or habilitation obtained in accredited higher education institutions that are members of the European Union, the European Economic Area, the Swiss Confederation, and in prestigious universities from other states included in the List of prestigious universities from other states, approved by order of the Minister of National Education and Scientific Research and periodically updated.

The status of doctoral supervisor or habilitation obtained at other accredited higher education institutions abroad than those mentioned in para. (1) is recognized only on the basis of an international mutual recognition agreement, concluded at intergovernmental or inter-university level.

The provisions of this procedure apply to Romanian citizens, citizens of member states of the European Union, the European Economic Area, the Swiss Confederation, and citizens of third countries.

Based on its own procedure, UNAGE establishes the criteria for recognizing the status of doctoral supervisor or habilitation and issues a decision regarding the recognition request.

The exercise of the rights conferred by the status of doctoral supervisor and the holding of a teaching position at UNAGE Iași are carried out according to the legal regulations in force.

UNAGE Iași consults, if necessary, the National Center for Recognition and Equivalence of Diplomas (hereinafter CNRED) and the National Council for the Certification of Titles, Diplomas, and University Certificates.
