This procedure regulates the automatic recognition at the West University of Timișoara (UVT) of academic teaching positions obtained in accredited higher education institutions abroad, for the purpose of filling a vacant teaching position within UVT, participating in selection committees for the occupation of teaching and research positions within UVT, etc.

The provisions of this procedure apply to Romanian citizens, citizens from European Union member states, the European Economic Area, the Swiss Confederation, and citizens from third countries.

"Art. 4. UVT is an accredited higher education institution according to legal norms and, as such, automatically recognizes academic teaching positions obtained in accredited higher education institutions from European Union member states, the European Economic Area, the Swiss Confederation, and in prestigious universities from other states included in the List of prestigious universities from other states, approved by order of the Minister of National Education and Scientific Research and updated periodically."

"Art. 5. Teaching positions obtained at other accredited higher education institutions than those mentioned in Art. 4 are recognized only on the basis of an international mutual recognition agreement, concluded at intergovernmental or inter-university level."

"Art. 7. The committee that evaluates the recognition file and provides a decision regarding the recognition request, hereinafter referred to as the Evaluation Committee, is composed of 3 members: 1 tenured academic staff member from the department similar to the applicant’s specialization, the Dean of the faculty, and 1 representative of the UVT Information and Documentation Resource Center. The tenured academic staff member, a member of the Evaluation Committee, will be appointed by the Dean with the approval of the Faculty Council." Issuance of duplicate

In the case of loss, destruction or deterioration of the recognition decision, UVT will issue, upon request, a duplicate thereof.
