The procedure establishes the steps that must be taken for the identification, recruitment, evaluation, and certification of maternal assistants, in accordance with the legislation in force, within the Directorate General of Social Assistance and Child Protection sector 3. The maternal assistant is the natural person, certified under the conditions of Ordinance no. 27/2024, who, through the activity carried out at their home, provides the upbringing, care, and education necessary for the harmonious development of the children they receive in placement. The person who wishes to become a maternal assistant will submit a request for capacity evaluation to DGASPC sector 3. The request must obligatorily specify the number of children for whom the applicant considers they can simultaneously provide optimal care conditions, their age group, children with disabilities, the capacity to take in children in emergency situations or during another maternal assistant's respite period.
