Regarding the Current Professional Certificate, we wish to make the following clarifications:

In accordance with the provisions of Pharmacy Law no. 266/2008 in its consolidated form as published in Official Gazette no. 448/30.06.2009 Part I, as well as the Implementation Rules published in Official Gazette no. 538/03.07.2009 Part I, pharmacists who will hold the position of chief pharmacist in a pharmaceutical unit (in cases of opening new pharmaceutical units, as well as changes of the chief pharmacist - for those who will take over the chief position), will address the county colleges for obtaining the Current Professional Certificate.

Also, this document is required for pharmacists who wish to practice their profession outside the country's borders.

The methodology for drafting and issuing the Current Professional Certificate was established by the Decision of the National Council of the C.F.R. no. 1/2007, decision published in the Official Monitor of Romania Part I no. 324 from 15.05.2007.

Below, we present the main provisions of Decision no. 1/2007, as follows:

​- The Current Professional Certificate will be drafted by the College of Pharmacists in Romania and issued by the territorial college where the applicant is registered;

- The validity of the Current Professional Certificate is 3 months from the date of issuance;

- Within a maximum of three days from the receipt of the request for issuing the Current Professional Certificate, the territorial college will send the standard request to the College of Pharmacists in Romania for drafting and issuing the document;

- Within a maximum of 30 days from receipt of the request, C.F.R. will draft the certificate and send it to the territorial college;

- The Current Professional Certificate will be issued by the College of Pharmacists in Romania who will prepare it and transmit it to the territorial college;
- The territorial college will prepare a Register of records — with identification data for the Current Professional Certificates issued to pharmacists in the respective county — and hand them over to the applicants under signed receipt.

To obtain the Current Professional Certificate, the pharmacist will submit to the territorial college a file that will include the documents attached below.
