In original and in copy (for Romanian citizens - identity card, identity card or provisional identity card; for citizens of the European Union or the European Economic Area - the identity document or passport issued by their respective state; for stateless persons - passport issued on the basis of the 1954 Convention relating to the Status of Stateless Persons, accompanied by the temporary or permanent residence permit, as applicable; passport issued by the country of citizenship, in which the visa for entry into Romania must be applied; the visa must be valid both at the date of submission of the marriage declaration and at the date of the marriage ceremony for foreign citizens from third countries; travel document issued based on the Geneva Convention of 1951 / the travel document for foreigners who obtained subsidiary protection, for foreign citizens who have been granted a form of protection in Romania; in case international protection beneficiaries in Romania cannot present their birth certificate, they must submit an authentic declaration on their own responsibility stating their civil status data; passport issued by the country of citizenship, accompanied by the temporary identity document for foreign citizens applying for asylum in Romania). The documents proving identity must be valid both at the date of submission of the marriage declaration and at the date of the marriage ceremony.*

Standard form, which must bear the registration number, the exact date, the seal/stamp of the medical unit, the doctor's signature and stamp; medical certificates are valid for 14 days from the date of issuance and must include an explicit statement whether the person can or cannot marry; medical certificates issued by medical institutions abroad for the use of Romanian diplomatic missions and consular offices must contain all fields and be accompanied by a legalized translation into Romanian, with apostille or superlegalization, as appropriate*

In original and in copies, translated and legalized or certified by the civil status officer (the certificate of separation or divorce, issued between 1951-1960; the birth or marriage certificate, with the mention of dissolution of marriage; the final and irrevocable divorce decree; for divorces granted between October 8, 1966–July 31, 1974, this must bear the mention that it was recorded in the marriage certificate within two months from the date the decision became final; the death certificate of the former spouse)*

The declaration on one's own responsibility, authenticated by a public notary, from which it results that the future spouse, foreign citizen or stateless person, is not married and meets the substantive conditions required by their national law for concluding marriage in Romania, for citizens of states that do not have a diplomatic mission or consular office accredited in Romania, as well as for beneficiaries of international protection in Romania; in the case of stateless persons, the national law is the law of the state in which they have their domicile or, as the case may be, residence.*
