In order to encourage school attendance, in 2002 the School Supplies Program was launched, which is addressed to students in state primary and secondary education, day courses. At the beginning of each school year, school supply packages specific to each class are distributed.
The composition of the school supply packages granted to students is determined based on the Methodology for the application of the provisions of Law no. 126/2002 for the approval of Government Emergency Ordinance no. 33/2001 regarding the granting of school supplies.
Funding request submitted by the Ministry of National Education, at the beginning of September 2017, through the Operational Program for Assisting Disadvantaged Persons (POAD) 2014-2020, was approved. The decision allows, starting with this school year, the purchase of school supplies for preschool children, and supplementing the supply packages given to primary and secondary school students with schoolbags.
