In order to stimulate school attendance, in 2002 the School Supplies Program was launched, addressing students in public primary and secondary education, day classes. At the beginning of each school year, packages with school supplies specific to each class are distributed.

The contents of the school supplies packages given to students are established based on the Methodology for applying the provisions of Law no. 126/2002 for the approval of the Government Emergency Ordinance no. 33/2001 regarding the granting of school supplies.

Funding application submitted by the Ministry of National Education, at the beginning of September 2017, through the Operational Program for Aid to Disadvantaged Persons (POAD) 2014-2020 was approved. The decision allows, starting with this school year, the purchase of supplies for preschoolers, respectively the supplementation with schoolbags of the packages of supplies given to students in primary and secondary education.
