In order to encourage school attendance, in 2002 the School Supplies Program was launched, addressed to students in public primary and secondary education, day classes. At the beginning of each school year, packages with school supplies specific to each class are distributed.

The contents of the school supply packages granted to students are established based on the Methodology for applying the provisions of Law no. 126/2002 for the approval of Government Emergency Ordinance no. 33/2001 regarding the granting of school supplies.

Funding request submitted by the Ministry of National Education at the beginning of September 2017, through the Operational Program for Aid to Disadvantaged Persons (POAD) 2014-2020, was approved. The decision allows, starting with this school year, the purchase of supplies for preschoolers, as well as supplementing the packages of supplies given to primary and secondary students with backpacks.
