In order to encourage school attendance, the School Supplies Program was launched in 2002, addressing students in state primary and lower secondary education, day courses. At the beginning of each school year, packages with school supplies specific to each grade are distributed.

The composition of the school supplies packages granted to students is established based on the Methodology for the application of the provisions of Law no. 126/2002 for the approval of the Government Emergency Ordinance no. 33/2001 regarding the granting of school supplies.

Funding request submitted by the Ministry of National Education, at the beginning of September 2017, through the Operational Program for Aiding Disadvantaged People (POAD) 2014-2020, was approved. The decision allows, starting with this school year, the purchase of supplies for preschoolers, as well as the supplementation with backpacks of the supply packages granted to students in primary and lower secondary education.
